Invitation Ideas

I'm trying to come up with an idea for Lena's party invitations today. I've been looking online and I can not find anything that I just have to get. In her Mothers Day Out class, I came up with this Mother's Day craft and I think I will do something similar. Lena is holding a gift wrap tube in this picture and I pasted the flower over the tube parts that were showing. They were a hit in her class and Lena got a kick out of seeing herself on this little card so hopefully I can come up with something with a zoo theme.

Pregnancy!

So this is Morning Sickness and eating crackers at 3:00 am
I found out I was pregnant on Saturday. I am about five weeks and as Lena would say " I so excited".
It is 3:21 and I have felt nauseous since around 6:00 pm yesterday. I have been up since 2:00 M. With my first pregnancy I did not experience morning sickness, cravings, aversions, or braxton hicks contractions. I felt better then I ever have my whole life. I felt like I just was not pregnant until i got to experience those things. I just lost my crackers a few minutes ago. I feel much better. How long will this last? Am I going to feel sick again in in the morning? Is it too late to take it back that I want to experience those things? Ugh, I really thought this would not happen until I was further along. Guess what, I'm still "so excited" Bring it on! I'm pregnant!!!

OK so it wasn't morning sickness. It was some kind of stomach bug that Scott, his mom and I all got. OK, I'm crazy but I was a little disappointed it wasn't going to last. Crazy yea, I know, but I heard morning sickness is a good sign of a healthy pregnancy.

We had or first doctors visit yesterday. We go to see our new little baby and see the heart beat, exhale.

Marlena has been trying to wrestle with me a lot lately. I had to tell her to be careful because i have a baby in my pansa (stomach). Later I was on speaker phone with mom and Marlena asked to see the baby in my pansa. I don't think she heard. I hope I can make it 5 more weeks to announce it. My sister brought her old maternity clothes the other day, she brought them for when I need them later. She didn't know how soon I would be using them. I wore one to work Thursday because I feel like I am already looking pregnant. The girl that works a room down from me was wearing a shirt very similar and she is about 7 months pregnant. No one said anything. I need to watch it though. 2 more weeks of work. The doctor does not think I can keep it a secret until the 20th of June. I hope he is not right!

Rain, rain, go away come again another day . . . Oh, go ahead and stay because Marlena is going to play anyway.

Marlena put on her snow boots that we bought for our winter trip to Colorado. I'm glad we can get more uses out of them as rain boots. They worked pretty good until Marlena started jumping in the water.

Sophie our attention starved cat decided to climb on my back as I took pictures. She still has all her claws so getting her off my back is something I just have to wait out.

As I was waiting Marlena decided to take her shoes off and stomp in the water.

Shortly after that it was bath time!

Rainy Monday

What to do on a rainy Monday, make a mess. We made some wonderful rainy day brownies and painted our nails. I did make a trip to Hobby Lobby to get craft for Marlena. It was a plastic butterfly window decoration that you can decorate with glitter.

The glitter nail polish was a much bigger hit and it took up more time. We both have very glittery toes thanks to my little manicurist.

Gardner's Gathering

We had a fun family outing to the Arboretum. They were having their Gardner's Gathering plant sale. Marlena got to create a fun hat as well as a propagate a plant and make a pollinator for her flowers. Scott and I picked up some apple mint to add to our mint collection. We plan on making a raised bed and really get it growing. Mint tea sounds good for the summer!

Project of the Day

Scott and I got some kind of stomach bug. Poor Lena had to put up with the both of us. We didn't get to do much. We did get to go outside for a little while and then later that evening we recycled her crayons.

Set Oven to 275 degrees. Take off all the paper and break into small pieces. We used a mini muffin tin and we sparyed it with cooking spray before we put the crayons in.

Put in oven for 7-8 minutes. If you want you can use a toothpick to swirl the crayons but we decided to leave them as is.

Let them cool completely. They should pop right out if you didn't forget the cooking spray.

It was a fun little actvity for us to do. We get to test them out tomorrow.

Bento Search

I decided to order some bento box supplies on Amazon.com. I figure the shipping and handling will be less then all the driving around I would have to do to find what I want. I also went out and bought more Easter egg dye since it is on sale. Not only is it a fun craft but it helps Marlena eat hard boild eggs, two for one!!
